Equipment Checklist/Hiking Gear

Some people choose to bring their own equipment for trekking. Other people don’t wish to carry around or spend money on things they may only use once. For the latter we recommend renting equipment from L.N. Treks. We supply many essential items including: sleeping bags, down jackets, trekking poles and other accessories. We would suggest that trekkers may need the following:

sleeping bag with liner
water bottle
torch (flashlight) with spare bulbs
duffle bag
trekking poles
gaiters (for rain and snow)
quick drying towel
water purification eg., iodine or filter
laundry soap
Lip balm
polarizing sunglasses
cigarette lighter (optional)
books and magazines (optional)
binoculars (optional)
camera (optional)
flu and cough medicines
diarrhoea medicines
anti-inflammatories e.g. ibuprofen
eye drops
antiseptic eg. iodine plasters/band
aids bandages
ciprofloxacin (antibiotics)
cotton bandages
